Struggling to Get Tickets for the SoCal Pokémon World Championships—Anyone Else?

My boyfriend and I both applied for the spectator tickets to the SoCal Pokémon World Championships, but only he received an email inviting him to buy tickets. You only have 48 hours to complete the purchase, and I’m unsure if he should just buy his ticket and hope I get an email later. The random selection process feels really frustrating, and I’m upset with how Pokémon handled ticket distribution. Has anyone else not received their email yet or dealt with this?

This whole random ticket picking is a mess. I really don’t get why they don’t just do a first-come, first-served system or increase ticket availability. It’s tough when you’re super hyped but unsure if you’ll even get the chance to buy tickets.

Totally feel you! My friend and I both applied, and only they got their email. I’m still waiting and it’s so annoying. Hopefully, we both get lucky, but the system’s honestly pretty unfair.

I’d say he should go ahead and buy his ticket if he’s set on attending. Worst case, if you don’t get one, you might have to watch for resale tickets, but yeah, those can be way overpriced thanks to scalpers.

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking too. But resold tickets always seem to cost a fortune. It’s frustrating because I want to go so bad, but might end up stuck paying triple.
