I’ve been playing Steam games on my Arch Linux setup without any issues, even with games stored on an NTFS partition (I dual boot with Windows 10). However, recently, I can’t seem to launch any games, not even the ones installed locally. The Steam client shows no errors; the ‘Play’ button just returns to its original state almost immediately after clicking it. For testing, I’m using Antonblast (which has a platinum rating on ProtonDB) under Proton 9.0.4, and both are installed in my home directory. I’ve included the console output from my attempts in this link. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

It sounds a lot like you’re experiencing issues related to NTFS. When you set your default Steam library to an NTFS drive and try different Proton versions, those versions can get installed on the NTFS partition, which causes issues. Honestly, I recommend moving away from NTFS because storage is cheap these days, and it’s not worth the hassle.
Lesson learned. So, is my Steam installation completely broken then?
