I’ve been playing Overwatch, and I keep getting matched into Quick Play lobbies where the ping is around 500. It’s basically unplayable at that latency, so I leave the game, but then I get hit with penalties for leaving the match. I really think that if the game puts you into a situation where you can’t play, you shouldn’t be penalized for it. What do you all think?

The concern about people abusing the system is valid, but it’s definitely frustrating when you can’t even play the game at such high ping. Maybe there should be a system in place that checks for extreme ping and allows players to leave without penalty? It could help avoid players intentionally causing issues just to leave.
I hear you on the server assignments. It would be awesome if we could manually select servers instead of getting tossed into a game that might be halfway across the world. A lot of players face similar issues with server locations affecting their gameplay.
Yeah, it’s ridiculous! Other games like Valorant let you pick. I’m in NY but always get put on servers far away. It just kills the experience.
Totally get that! It’s super easy to cause high latency intentionally. Like, if someone has a bunch of downloads going, they could just mess up the game for everyone.
