I’ve been thinking about how the new Qorvex augment is really shaking things up with that incredible laser beam. It got me wondering, shouldn’t Wisp’s Sol Gate also receive a similar boost? The base Sol Gate is decent, but it suffers from a slower tick speed compared to other beam weapons. I believe if we could increase the tick speed, it could be much more effective, especially because the damage is already solid. Just to clarify, I’m talking about the base Sol Gate, not the augment itself. I love the augment, but I just want to fire my sun laser like Qorvex does with his mighty beam! What do you all think?

Seriously, faster ticks would solve so many issues. Even with my maxed-out build, it still feels sluggish at times.
Do you mean with or without boosting the beam power by holding LMB?
I think another great solution would be giving Sol Gate aim glide gravity while casting. Right now, she just drops to the ground, which really undermines her casting ability.
That would be awesome! It’d give her a whole new dimension while casting her augmented Sol Gate.
This post made me finally try out the Cataclysmic Sol Gate! Can anyone help me figure out how to get decent damage? It feels weak, like wet paper.
The Cataclysmic Gate augment is fantastic already, allowing multiple suns to rain down at the same time. It’s pretty different from Qorvex’s beam, but I find it works great! Totally loving the damage output.
I wasn’t suggesting nerfing the augment! I just feel the base Sol Gate could use some love to match Qorvex’s immense damage potential.
I recently built a Wisp with that new augment, and it’s monstrous! I’m glad to hear others are enjoying it too.
Honestly, one way to enhance the base Sol Gate would be to have it scale with haste mote for procs and attack speed. I’d say the new augment is fun, but the tick speed just feels off. It’s not as snappy as it should be!
What? Synergy? In my fave frame? Can’t have that.
I kinda wish it had a longer base duration, because it feels like I’m constantly activating it.
Totally agree! It would really complement her passive nicely.
