I’ve been thinking that we need to reconsider allowing players below level 20 to claim level-up rewards. Right now, these rewards let experienced players get to level 20 in less than two hours. As it stands, players only have to grind through 10 levels to grab these rewards, and there’s no scaling involved, meaning they can hit level 20 even quicker if they wait until they’re level 10 to claim them. I’d suggest replacing these level-up rewards with something like drops or cosmetics, to give new players a chance to get better experience before jumping into ranked matches. I’d also be in favor of increasing that level cap to 30 or even higher! What do you think?

The issue is they just tied everything to XP levels, which made them meaningless. They should have had separate XP levels and Rocket Pass tiers—progress in one shouldn’t affect the other!
Let’s be real though, smurfs are going to find a way around any system. But these changes might deter some new ones from coming in too fast. That’s really the key here.
Old smurfs might just stop playing on certain accounts once they hit a rank that’s hard to maintain, so it might sort itself out.
Honestly, as long as they don’t address toxic behavior, all the level changes won’t matter much. It’s like putting a band-aid on a broken leg.
Right? Their approach of just ignoring toxicity isn’t helping anyone.
What if they limited casual MMOs to a certain range of ranked MMR? That way, smurfs would have to work harder to rank up. It’s complicated, but worth considering.
That could lead to some issues with fair matchmaking, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction!
Yeah, it’s crazy how in some games like League of Legends, you need like 100 games to reach a decent level for ranked. It definitely feels like the leveling system here could be improved to make it more meaningful.
I totally agree! Increasing the level requirement can make it a tougher hurdle for smurfers.
Exactly! It’s wild this isn’t the default because it really confuses new players.
