I’ve been running into a lot of teammates who go AFK halfway through matches or start the game without even engaging. It’s really frustrating and has made me want to take breaks from Rocket League for long stretches. I think we seriously need to implement harsher punishments for these players. It’s disheartening not hearing any feedback on reports; it feels like they just vanish into thin air. We definitely need stricter auto penalties!

Exactly! Some players just act out like kids and don’t care about the impact on the game. I feel like they need to rethink the way they handle these players. Severe punishments could really help turn things around.
I think the bigger issue isn’t just severity but the fact that AFK players don’t really get punished right now, regardless of reports. Also, I don’t think leaving early should be punished heavily, since sometimes it’s not intentional.
One issue with heavy penalties is that players might just create smurf accounts if they get banned. Smurfs can be even worse than those throwing matches, so it’s a tricky situation.
I totally get where you’re coming from! I think they should really ramp up the punishments for AFK and match-throwing players. Maybe longer cooldowns and harsher penalties could help? I’ve been playing PvP games for over 20 years, and I’ve never seen so much griefing and quitting than in this game. It’s pretty disheartening!
But what about when someone disconnects? I’ve had that happen and it would suck to get a month-long ban just because my WiFi drops.
