I’m curious if the next Resident Evil game should incorporate melee weapon combat. Given that it’s set in a zombie apocalypse, using melee weapons like baseball bats, crowbars, and hatchets to save ammo seems like a no-brainer. Just like the knives in Resident Evil 4 Remake, these melee weapons could have durability that wears down with use and can be repaired or upgraded.

Honestly, no thanks. I liked how the first two remakes used melee weapons as a temporary escape tool rather than a main combat option. I’m just not into weapon durability in Resident Evil games.
I’m all for more melee weapon options! It would be cool to see a range of weapons and combat styles. But I agree with some others that the durability thing can be a drag. If they have an unbreakable knife for emergencies, that might work.
I really hope they skip the melee weapon durability this time around. The RE4 remake was solid, but I just don’t like the idea of my weapons breaking in games like that.
I’m with you on this one. Melee weapons are cool, but I’m just thinking back to Outbreak and how awesome that game was. We really need something like that again!
Melee weapons could be great, but only if they improve on the mechanic from the RE4 remake. It needs to be more satisfying and less punishing.
