My sister is 11 and wants to start using voice chat (VC) on Roblox, but she’s a bit scared about it. Since Roblox officially restricts voice chat to users who are 13 or older, I’m wondering if it’s okay for her to use it now or if she should wait a couple more years. What are the risks or benefits she should be aware of?

Most people agree voice chat is best for 13+ because younger kids can get bullied or feel overwhelmed by some of the conversations. It doesn’t add a ton of benefits besides just being able to talk verbally, which might not be worth the risk if she’s worried about it. Better to play safe and wait it out.
I have voice chat but honestly I barely use it since it’s mostly just chat convenience and doesn’t really improve gameplay that much. Roblox voice chat can sometimes be unsafe or annoying, so it’s smart to be cautious, especially if you’re younger.
Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend voice chat for younger players. There are lots of people who bypass filters, spam weird sound clips, or say inappropriate stuff. It can get pretty toxic or scary, especially for younger kids. So I’d suggest keeping voice chat off until she’s more mature and ready to handle that environment.
Voice chat on Roblox is officially for players age 13 and up, so technically she’s not supposed to use it yet. While some try to get around this by lying about their age, it’s probably better if she waits until she’s old enough. Since she has only a couple years to go, holding off might be the safest choice.
