I just got my Xbox Series X back from repair, and I noticed what looks like a small spill inside the console. It seems like there’s some oily substance around the top. I’m concerned whether this could cause any damage later on, or if it’s just lubricant and should be fine. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Yeah, I had a similar experience after my console got repaired. They returned it with a bit of thermal paste on the outside, and I was freaking out! So far, everything’s running fine. If your Xbox is performing well, it’s likely just maintenance from the repair.
I wouldn’t stress too much if it looks like just some lubricant. Repair centers sometimes use grease to keep components running smoothly, but if it’s excessive or sticky, that could be a problem later. Just keep an eye on it and monitor how your console runs.
