Should I Use My 70 Boost on a High-Level or Start Fresh?

-

Hey folks! I’m back in WoW after some time away and I’m trying to get my head around the new changes. I used to mainly play during Mists of Pandaria, then Legion, and a bit of BFA. Right now, I’ve got two characters, a Demon Hunter and a Mage, both reset to level 50 due to the squish. I’ve also got a 47 Rogue and Monk, plus some lower level characters in the 20s. I’m torn between using my level boost to jump to 70 on a higher-level character versus saving it for a new character. I’m worried that jumping straight to 70 with all the new abilities might be overwhelming. What do you think? Should I just ease back into it and gradually level, or is boosting worth it? By the way, I loved playing Havoc DH for melee and Frost Mage for ranged back in the day!

I just got back into WoW myself! I decided to start fresh with a Warlock, which has been super fun. I’ve got some characters in the 40s and 50s, but it feels like a whole new game now. I recommend waiting until you feel that itch for a different class before using your boost. Enjoy the leveling experience as it’s way more enjoyable than it used to be!

I get that! I don’t want to create a new account because of the old mounts I have, but I’m definitely leaning towards playing some old toons and maybe starting a few new ones since I haven’t tried the new 1-10 leveling zones yet.

Honestly, with the current speed of leveling, boosts feel somewhat trivial. Just play around a bit first, shake off the rust, and figure out which class you want to commit to. Enjoy the leveling journey!

I’d suggest holding onto your boost until you get comfortable again. Take some time to relearn your favorite classes and just play at your own pace. It’s easy to level up to 80 now, but starting with a fresh boost can be pretty overwhelming. You can even try a trial character to test out talents and abilities on dummies first!

Thanks for the advice! I was definitely planning to take my time. Do you think it would be a waste to boost a level 47 or 50 character, or should I just create a new one to boost?

If you’re looking to level up quickly, now’s a great time to do it! The Winds of Mysterious Fortune event gives a nice XP boost of 20-30%. I’d hold off on the boost to take advantage of this time personally!
