I’ve been playing a lot of first-person shooters and I’m curious about using AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2.1, especially since my 7800XT can run games on high or very high settings at 120 to 144 fps. I’m wondering if there are any good reasons to avoid using frame generation, given that it could push my frame rate above 144 fps and enhance graphics quality. I realize that with such a high base fps, the added input lag may only be around 7ms, which seems minor. What do you all think?

If you’re starting with a high base fps, that slight increase in input latency shouldn’t be a big deal. Just keep in mind that the performance might depend a lot on your monitor’s capabilities. But overall, I think you can enjoy the benefits without worrying too much about that added lag.
It really depends on how sensitive you are to artifacts. AMD Fluid Motion Frames isn’t game content-aware, so it can introduce some visual issues, but if you’re okay with that and the latency doesn’t bug you, then why not give it a go?
Honestly, for competitive shooters, I wouldn’t recommend it. The benefits from using Frame Gen might get overshadowed by potential artifacts and latency. But if you’re just playing for fun and like the smoother visuals, it can be worth a try!
But the input lag is pretty minimal, so why not? The latest Fluid Motion should really reduce screen tearing too, making it more enjoyable.
I heard that version 2.1 fixed a lot of the artifact problems from the earlier version, so it might not be a big deal anymore. Plus, if your ping is solid, a little extra latency shouldn’t affect your gameplay much.
