Hey everyone! I’m considering upgrading my Ryzen 7 5800X to the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. I have a 3080 Ti and usually game at 1440p, plus I like to play some titles with ray tracing and DLSS in quality mode. Do you think this upgrade is worthwhile?

It really depends on the games you enjoy. A higher refresh rate can definitely make a difference in smoothness, and there’s been a noticeable performance increase in recent CPUs. I’m actually weighing the same upgrade since I mostly play CPU-heavy games, but I’m still on 1080p.
Honestly, if your current setup is doing the job, it might not be necessary to upgrade. However, if you’re chasing the latest and greatest hardware, it’s totally your call! Just know that sometimes upgrading just for the sake of it isn’t always worth it.
That’s a good point! I’m thinking the jump could benefit me since DLSS can upscale from 1080p to 4K or 1440p. Still caught in the debate though.
