I’m a huge fan of the original Silent Hill 2 and I’m curious about the remake. I wasn’t a fan of the Resident Evil 2 and 3 remakes because they changed too much from the originals. I’m wondering how faithful the Silent Hill 2 remake is to the classic game. The trailer looked promising, but I want to hear some real insights before I decide to buy it. Any advice?

I loved the original Silent Hill 2 and found the remake to be very close to it. While it has some new elements like puzzles that can throw you off a bit, the overall atmosphere remains intact. If you’re looking for something that feels like the original but with a modern touch, this should be right up your alley!
This remake sticks pretty closely to the original story and atmosphere. There are some updates, like the camera angle and a few added scenes, but nothing feels too out of place or damaging to the core experience. If you’re into psychological horror, the remake keeps that creepy vibe alive and well!
Great to hear! It seems like they made the right changes while keeping the essence of the game.
Gameplay-wise, it feels different compared to the original, but that can be good! There’s still resource management and puzzles, though the combat has been revamped with new mechanics. Honestly, I didn’t like the RE remakes but found SH2’s remake to be fantastic! You might just love it if you liked the original.
It’s definitely closer to the original compared to how the RE remakes deviated from their source material.
