I’m considering swapping my Lenovo Legion 5 15IMH6, which has an i5-10500H CPU, 16GB of RAM, a 512GB SSD, and an RTX 3050 Ti for a gaming PC that has an i5-9600KF CPU, a GTX 1070 Ti, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and a similar SSD setup. It seems like the desktop GPU would perform better, but I’m unsure if this is a good move overall. Thoughts?

In terms of performance, you’re looking at a downgrade. The benchmarks show the 1070 Ti is better, but have you considered the overall system performance and other aspects? Is there a specific reason you want to make this swap?
I would say no to that trade. The gaming PC is quite outdated now. You could build or find a better one for not much more money, especially if you’re okay with using some second-hand parts. It just doesn’t seem worth it.
Help me out here! If every benchmark shows the 1070 Ti is better, how is that a downgrade? I’m missing something.
