I recently ordered the Razer 16 with a 5070ti GPU, but I’m wondering if I should cancel that order and opt for a laptop with a 4080 GPU instead. The price difference is about £200, and I’ve seen benchmarks showing the 4080 outperforms the 5070ti in the games I play. What do you all think?

We don’t have solid benchmarks for the 5070ti laptop yet, but if you really want this year’s Razer Blade 16 and are unsure about it, keep in mind you usually have a return window. If you’re not happy after trying it, you can always send it back!
The 5070ti laptop has 5,888 CUDA cores while the 4080 has 7,424, so there’s a pretty noticeable difference in performance potential. Although we need actual benchmarks to confirm how much better the 4080 will perform, I’d bet it might be 15-20% faster based on the specs alone. I’d recommend waiting for those benchmarks before making a decision, though.
It’s important to note that mobile GPUs don’t always perform at the same level as their desktop counterparts. The 4080 laptop uses a different die than its desktop version, meaning you can’t compare them directly just based on the name. Also, if cooling is an issue with the Razer, the performance might not be great. Just consider how well the laptop will handle heat and power before making your choice. I had a bad experience with Razer laptops due to poor cooling and support, so I’d tread carefully.
Totally agree! My Razer laptop had so many issues. It looked great, but the performance wasn’t reliable. Definitely check reviews for durability and customer support first.
