Hey folks! So here’s my situation – my buddy has a Switch and I’ve got Minecraft on PC, but I’ve also got a Switch stashed away somewhere. My plan was to play on PC, but I’ve heard setting up cross-platform multiplayer can be a major hassle. I’m also worried about how well the game will run. Should I go through the trouble of setting up cross-play, or would it be smarter to just grab the Bedrock Edition on my Switch to keep things simpler for us both? What do you think?

Performance-wise, it’s better not to have your friend host the game from the Switch. Their internet connection might be sketchier. Also, double-check that his Microsoft account is logged in, or he won’t be able to join your game at all. Keep those things in check, and you guys should be good to go!
Don’t worry about cross-platform. Bedrock Edition supports crossplay, so it’s pretty seamless no matter where you’re playing. You can have your PC and his Switch in epic harmony, all cool and connected!
Why not try the Bedrock Edition on your PC? It would allow you to play cross-platform with your friend who’s on a Switch. Minecraft Bedrock is pretty much supported equally across platforms, so you shouldn’t face issues with connectivity or performance if both of you are using Bedrock.
Totally agree. The Switch isn’t meant to deal with hosting. Everything runs way smoother if you handle it on your PC.
