Hey everyone, I’m in a bit of a dilemma here. I’m considering selling my current setup, which includes a PC with an RX580 8GB graphics card, an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, and 16GB of RAM, along with a 2019 MacBook Pro. I’m thinking of getting a Razer Blade 15 from 2021 that has some impressive specs: an RTX 3080, 360Hz display, Intel i7-11800H processor, 32GB of RAM, and a massive 3TB SSD. On paper, the Razer seems like a much better choice since I’ve been having trouble running most of my games lately. However, I’ve heard mixed reviews about Razer products. I’d love to hear your thoughts before I make a decision!

If you’re not in desperate need of portability, I’d stick with upgrading your PC. There are a ton of better options available for the AM4 socket that will run circles around the RX 580.
Did someone just say ‘just hit puberty then’? What happened to serious advice, lol? Anyway, I think the key is what you need a laptop for.
Honestly, unless you’re getting the Razer Blade for a steal, I’d suggest keeping your PC. The Ryzen 5 you have is likely better than the laptop’s i7 for gaming, plus you can easily upgrade your RAM to 32GB. Just a new GPU would really boost your performance without the need for a laptop.
That’s a valid point! The CPU in the Razer will be decent, but your current setup has a lot more upgrade potential if you just swap out the graphics card.
Plus, you mentioned your Mac is mainly for studies. If the deal is around $1,000 for the Razer, you could get a similar price selling your current gear. Just make sure it really fits your needs!
That sounds good, but, man, college expenses are real! If money’s tight, maybe saving for a while to upgraded your current rig is the way to go.
