I’m considering whether to restart my character in Fallout 76 to experience being a ghoul or stick with my current character. I’ve learned a few things while playing, and I’m wondering if starting over will enhance my gameplay experience. Has anyone else faced this decision? Is the fresh start worth it?

Just make a new character. You don’t want to lose everything you’ve worked on with your main. Having multiple characters is a blast — I have five, all with different builds and weapons! Why not add a ghoul to your roster?
You can’t even become a ghoul until you hit level 50, so definitely think about keeping your high-level character around while you decide!
From my experience, ghouls feel like end-game content. They come with some hassle, like needing disguises to interact with certain factions or older content, which can be annoying. You won’t see many new interactions for ghouls either, but future updates might change that.
Honestly, restarting isn’t a huge deal in the grand scheme of things. I find the early levels so much fun because of the challenge. Plus, reaching level 50 is pretty quick these days. You can create multiple characters, so why not try both?
I was a bit worried about becoming a ‘raisin-head’ too, but I have zero regrets! I had already completed all the story content, so the disguise isn’t an issue for me anymore. If I had to wear it all the time, I might have a different take.
If you’re interested in ghouls, I recommend starting fresh. They’re my favorite part of Fallout, and since I’ve transitioned to a ghoul build, it’s been awesome. The benefit is that you’ll know all the quests already, so wearing disguises won’t slow you down much this time.
Totally get that! I prefer maxing out my character and experimenting with all kinds of builds. Now with ghouls in the game, I’m tearing through the wasteland as a speedy ghoul!
