I’m curious if I should grab Destiny 1 or if it’s better to dive right into Destiny 2. I’ve played both betas and the vanilla campaigns, but life got busy. I’m thinking about gathering some friends for weekend sessions, but I’m not in touch with anyone who plays either game. So, what’s the verdict—worth it or should I skip?

Since a third of Destiny 2’s story is gone with the Red War, I suggest watching a recap video from someone like Byf—it’ll help fill in the gaps!
I’d say go straight to Destiny 2, but just know that you’ll miss some story details, menus, and other bits from the first game. If the story matters to you, maybe check out a recap video to get up to speed.
There’s a ton of great content in Destiny 1! The Taken King DLC is one of the best experiences in the entire series. I think it’s definitely worth playing, plus you’ll get a proper introduction. Destiny 2’s New Light experience just doesn’t compare.
Right, but I’m assuming I’ll still have to rely on the Destiny forums or some app to find others for full plays? No options to squad up before missions or raids?
I’d pass on the first game. With Destiny 2 available, it’s really not worth your time. Plus, it can be tough to find people still playing Destiny 1.
Thanks! So after the Red War, it’s either YouTube or I’m lost? And I thought those grimoire cards were complicated! Do I still need to LFG, or does the game have built-in features for that now?
