I have a laptop with a resolution of 3200×2000 and a 4070 GPU. I’ve heard that lowering the resolution can lead to a blurry image, and I usually play on medium settings because on high it drops to around 30-45 FPS. DLSS 3 doesn’t seem to help much at those low frame rates. Should I focus on lowering my resolution or my graphics settings to get better FPS?

I’d say go for lowering the resolution; it typically demands more power than lowering quality settings. Just be careful not to drop it too low since that can impact clarity.
Honestly, just experiment with different combinations! Play around with the settings and see what gives you the best performance without compromising too much on quality.
Instead of just cutting down your resolution outright, try adjusting DLSS to focus on the upscaler instead of frame generation, and see how that impacts your FPS. Also, if textures are within VRAM limits, keep them high or ultra—it usually doesn’t hurt performance!
Definitely avoid lowering resolution if you can help it. Instead, if you’re at DLSS Performance and still not getting enough FPS, start lowering your in-game settings. And just a heads up: Frame Generation isn’t extra performance; it’s more like a smoothing feature, so you want to hit around 60 FPS before you enable that for decent playability!
If your game supports DLSS, you should definitely give that a shot while keeping your settings as they are. You can drop a few graphics settings alongside using DLSS to strike a balance. Traditional resolution scaling is less effective with ML-based upscaling on your GPU.
