I’ve always been curious about the Halo series since I’m a fan of sci-fi. I know there’s a rich lore behind the games, and now that the Halo: Master Chief Collection is 75% off on Steam, I’m wondering if this is finally my chance to dive in and explore that lore. The Collection includes Halo Reach, Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2, 3, 3 ODST, and Halo 4, so it seems like a good deal! What do you think? Is this a good time to get into Halo?

If you’re into the lore, I highly suggest checking out the Halo novels too. There are over 36 books, and they offer some of the best stories in the franchise. Reading them could definitely enhance your Halo experience!
Absolutely! The Master Chief Collection offers nearly every main game up to Halo 4, so it’s a fantastic way to start your journey through the lore. I recommend you play them in release order: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3, ODST, Reach, and then 4 to get the full story progression.
Honestly, jumping into Halo 5 first might not be the best move. It’s quite different from the earlier games, but it could be fun too.
I just picked it up for $9.99 on the Microsoft Store. Totally worth it! Just a heads up, the matchmaking for that version has been pretty broken, so if you run into issues, consider refunding and getting it on Steam instead. It’s a steal right now with the sale!
You’re in for a treat! The MCC has tons of content, and don’t forget about mods that are easy to install on Steam. Check out Ruby’s Rebalance and Havoc mod for Combat Evolved—it keeps the original feel of the game. And trust me, play Halo: Combat Evolved in its original mode, the remaster doesn’t capture the true essence!
