Should I Grab a Used PS4 for a Better Story-Game Experience, Even Though I’ve Got a PC?

-

I’m finding it hard to really get into story-driven games on my PC—maybe it’s the clunky setup or just not the vibe—and I’m considering picking up a used PS4 (in good shape) to enjoy these narrative gems more comfortably on my TV. I could also score used games, but I’m wondering if it’s really worth it since a lot of titles eventually land on PC anyway. What are your thoughts and game recs if I decide to go console?

I’d say go for it if you’re after titles like Uncharted or The Last of Us. There’s something special about playing these games on a console—less fuss and a friendlier UI that really puts you in the zone for storytime. It’s all about the vibe and comfort while you play.

If your PC isn’t cutting it when it comes to running these story games the way they’re meant to be played, a console is a solid backup plan. The plug-and-play setup means you can just kick back on your couch without messing around with startup delays or fiddling with graphics settings. It’s all about enjoying the game as it was designed to be experienced.

Totally agree—sometimes the entire experience feels different on a console. It’s great for leaving the old desk setup behind.

It’s interesting because a lot of what used to be console exclusives are now showing up on PC, too. But if you’re keen on that laid-back, ready-to-go console feel—no waiting for boot-ups and everything working as designed—a used PS4 is a neat option. Just make sure to grab one from a reputable store so you’re not left regretting a dodgy deal.

Good call on buying from a physical store. Quality matters, even with used gear!

At the end of the day, it’s all about the experience you want. If you love the idea of lounging on your couch with a system that’s always ready to go, then a used PS4 fits the bill—even if your PC can run the games. Plus, you get the bonus of used games being cheaper, and you might upgrade to a PS5 later once you’re convinced of the console vibe.

Honestly, if you’re really chasing those slick story games and want something hassle-free, a used PS4 slim can do the trick. Sure, a PS5 might be more future-proof, but if budget’s a concern and you’re mainly after chill narrative titles, the PS4 is a smart move. Plus, buying from a trusted outlet means you get quality control on that used hardware.

Yeah, budget gamers can definitely save some cash with a used slim, and most games you want are practically available on both platforms now.
