I’m considering upgrading my monitor, but I’m not sure whether to go for a 2K (1440p) or a 4K setup. Here are my specs: Asrock B550 Steel Legend motherboard, XLR8 16GB DDR4 3600 RAM, Ryzen R7 5700G processor, and an Asus RTX 4070 with 12GB of video memory. I’ve heard that 4K gaming requires more RAM, so I’m thinking about adding another 16GB of RAM too. The monitor I’m eyeing is the MSI MAG 322 UPF, which has a 4K resolution. Would love to hear your thoughts!

Your current monitor is 1080p, right? If you upgrade to 2K, you’ll definitely notice a big improvement without overwhelming your GPU. 4K would require more power, and your system might struggle to keep up, so I say stick with 2K for now.
Honestly, I think a 2K monitor would be the way to go with your current setup. The RTX 4070 can handle 1440p just fine, but pushing it to 4K is going to be a stretch. You might not get the best frame rates at 4K, which can really affect your gaming experience. Just my two cents!
4K is a tough call with that card. Though it can do 4K, you won’t be enjoying the high frame rates you’d want for gaming. 1440p is a sweet spot for performance and visuals given your specs. Go for that!
What do you think is causing the bottleneck? Is it just the GPU not being enough for 4K?
