Hey everyone, I’m contemplating whether I should invest in a PS5 or stick with my Nitro V15 gaming laptop. I’ve never owned a PlayStation since the PS2, and honestly, I don’t feel a huge urge to get one right now. My laptop can run most current games on Ultra settings, except for Cyberpunk, which I had to refund because it only works on minimum settings. Plus, I often find better deals on games through Steam than on PlayStation. I’ve also noticed that the exclusive titles available for PS5 are pretty much matched by what I can play on my laptop. So I’m wondering if a PS5 is really worth it given that my laptop outperforms it in terms of specifications and game storage. I keep hearing about the price difference and how some games take longer to launch on console, so I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Having both a PC and a PS5 is great! Sometimes after a long day, I just want to kick back on the couch and game, rather than sitting at a desk. Plus, playing with friends on a console is way easier. That social aspect is hard to beat!
I upgraded from a decent gaming rig to a PS5, and I definitely think it was worth it. While the exclusives aren’t overwhelming right now, games like Gran Turismo 7 and Demon’s Souls really show off what the PS5 can do. Plus, the DualSense controller enhances the overall experience a lot!
It’s all about lifestyle! If you want a more laid-back gaming setup, a PS5 might be worth it. Certainly cheaper than building a PC that can rival its performance. Just remember to consider game graphics and performance trade-offs.
Good point! But I might just wait for the PS6 or hold off until I have my own place.
Honestly, I lean towards PC gaming. Most games eventually get ported to PC, and I don’t have to pay for a subscription like PS Plus for online play. Plus, there are so many more mods available for games on PC than on PS5, which can really enhance the experience.
True! Those factors really add up, especially if you love customizing your games.
If there are specific PS5 games that you really want to play and they’re not on PC, then it might be worth it for you. Just consider whether those exclusives are worth the investment for your gaming habits.
Is Astro Bot worth checking out on PS5? I played it in VR and loved it!
