Hey everyone! I’m new here and this is my first post, so bear with me! I love gaming but I’m not super into AAA titles. I usually play on my Nintendo Switch and PS4, but I’ve recently gotten hooked on this game called Infinity Nikki, which is only available on PS5 and PC. I’m considering a gaming laptop since I’ll be playing simpler indie games like Hollow Knight and Nine Sols, but Infinity Nikki does have some demanding specs: an i5-6600/R5 1500X CPU and GTX 1060/RX 590/Intel Arc A380 GPU. I’m a bit confused about whether a gaming laptop is the better choice, or if I should go for a PC. I want to keep my options budget-friendly too, so any tips on this would be super appreciated!

Honestly, those are pretty low requirements, so you could probably find a decent laptop without breaking the bank, even one with integrated graphics could handle it. Your choice really depends on how you plan to use it. If you want something portable, go for a laptop; it allows you to play casually on the couch or take it with you. But if you ever get serious about gaming and want to upgrade parts, a desktop might be a better long-term investment. With your current habits, a laptop seems like the way to go!
If you’re looking for a good value, you might want to aim for a gaming laptop under $1,000. Look for models with an i5 or i7, at least 16GB of RAM, and an RTX 4050 for a great experience. And just a heads up, gaming laptops generally have a shorter lifespan, usually around 3 to 5 years. But if you’re focused on indie games and not pushing the hardware too hard, you should be fine! What’s your budget looking like?
