I’m planning to upgrade my PC soon, specifically to enjoy the new Monster Hunter game closer to its release. I’m considering whether the 4070 Super would be a good fit or if I should hold out for the 5070 for better future-proofing. Any suggestions or advice would be great.

It kind of matters what resolution and frame rate you’re targeting. From what I’ve heard, the vanilla 5070 might just edge out the standard 4070 but fall short of the 4070 Super. If you’re into 1440p gaming and aiming for above 60 fps, the 4070 Super is solid but, heads up, it’s starting to creep up in price.
If you’re trying to stick to a budget while also considering future-proofing, the 5070 Ti might eventually serve you well due to its 16GB of VRAM. When it comes to longevity, more VRAM means it’ll handle upcoming games better, especially as textures keep getting beefier.
As others have pointed out, it’s wise to wait for proper reviews and comparison options, possibly from AMD as well. One of the key things to consider for future-proofing is that having more VRAM, like 16GB, is beneficial for enhancing visual quality, even if the GPU’s core strength isn’t significantly higher. This is why we can get older games like Skyrim looking modern with heavy texture mods.
