I’m new to strikes and raids in the game and have only experienced their story modes. With around 5,000 hours of gameplay under my belt, including solo speedruns of dungeons and a decent number of PvP matches, I’m feeling pretty confident. However, I typically prefer to go into new content without any prior guides because I think it enhances my first impressions by allowing me to improvise and think on my feet. That said, I’m wondering if it’s advisable to try strikes and raids without guides, especially considering I might be missing some crucial knowledge. What do you think?

Definitely give strikes a shot without a guide! The regular mode is quite manageable, especially if you’re familiar with the game. You can easily tackle the SoTo, EoD, and IBS strikes without needing to consult a guide first. Since you’ve done T4 fractals, you’re more than ready! Just hop into a group via LFG and have a blast! If you dive into IBS strikes, you might even find them so easy you can go in blind!
Just a heads up: find a group that’s easy-going. Some mechanics can catch you off guard and lead to quick defeats. If you’re not careful, you might end up in a group that doesn’t appreciate blind runs. It could give you a bad impression of the experience. If you’re in the EU, feel free to hit me up; I’d love to bring you along to one of our events!
Going in blind can be a fun adventure, but it might become frustrating if you’re trying to figure out why things are going wrong. With strikes and raids being popular for quite some time, it’s helpful to find like-minded players who are also willing to go in without expectations. If you join via LFG, just communicate that you’re looking for a blind run so people know what to expect!
Yeah, setting expectations in the LFG message is key! It helps everyone to be on the same page.
True! It’ll probably make the experience much more enjoyable if everyone’s on a similar level.
