I’m pretty late to the current generation of consoles and primarily use my PS4 for games from Bethesda and Rockstar. My Xbox 360 is finally on its last legs, so I’m in search of a console that lets me enjoy skateboarding games and classic Fallout titles. I also want to replace my PS4 with newer games like the latest Doom series, No Man’s Sky, and Red Dead Redemption. I’m planning to buy a bunch of games, but I’ll probably keep a maximum of 3-5 installed at a time to save on storage. What do you all think?

Honestly, I think going with a 1TB Series X would be the best bet for you.
I own both the Series S and X, and if you want a true gaming experience, stick with the Series X. The Series S feels like a lighter version, like Diet Coke compared to the real deal.
It really depends on your internet connection and whether you plan to use Game Pass. I’m on a Series X with a 1TB external drive, giving me 2TB in total. I have around 15 large games installed and about 300GB free after some cleanup. Just to give you a heads up, the Series S has about 364GB of usable space. Games like Call of Duty can take up almost 200GB, and both the new Doom and Red Dead are hefty too. If you go for the Series S, you’ll fill it up fast, but managing 3-5 games at a time could work. If your WiFi is solid, consider cloud gaming with the Series S to save space and improve quality. A couple of years ago, getting the Series X would be a no-brainer, but being late in the game makes it tougher to justify the cost.
True, that makes sense. Just trying to figure out how to justify saving for the Series S instead until at least 2025.
