I just unlocked the incarnon adapter and I’m debating whether to equip it on the Vasto or Vasto Prime. From what I’ve seen, the normal Vasto seems stronger with the incarnon, but how significant is that difference? Is the Prime version completely useless? It feels odd to invest in the base Vasto, similar to how people view investing in a base frame as a “waste.” On the other hand, the Vasto Prime looks nice and has double Madurai polarity, which is appealing since I like spreading my forma across multiple builds. Given the same investment of a catalyst and three forma, would the Prime version be more comparable with its additional polarities? I’ll be using this weapon for disruption missions against demolishers and acolytes, but I don’t typically play for over an hour, so hitting level cap isn’t really a concern.

The regular Vasto is great for max damage in incarnon mode, especially if you’re going for that one-shot capability. The incarnon version gives you a solid boost with about 20-30 more base damage and a crit multiplier compared to the Prime, which is a decent advantage. If you’re planning to primarily use it for demolisher missions, I’d say stick with the regular Vasto. The Prime version is cool, but it doesn’t hit as hard in this particular setup.
Generally, people prefer the Prime versions, but the Vasto is a bit of an exception. If you check out the Warframe wiki, you’ll see how they stack up. For the best flexibility, I’d recommend crafting Omni forma if you want to build multiple setups for your weapons. But keep in mind, normal Vasto can actually outperform the Prime version with specific builds.
Yeah, the Vasto is definitely an outlier. The base version, with its evolution bonuses, can deal more damage thanks to the Deathtrap trigger mechanism. It’s a unique case!
