Hey everyone! I’m wrapping up my gaming PC build, and the last piece I need is the CPU. I’m debating between the Ryzen 7 7700X priced at €284 and the Ryzen 7 7800X3D at €400. My setup includes an RTX 5070 Ti 16GB GDDR7 GPU and 32GB of Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 RAM. I’ll mainly be gaming at 1440p, and I’m curious whether the performance boost from the 7800X3D is worth the extra cash or if the 7700X is sufficient for my needs. Any experiences or advice would be appreciated!

I’d go for the 7800X3D. While it might not show a huge increase in average FPS, the improvement in 1% lows is definitely worth it, especially for a smoother gaming experience.
What games do you typically play? The 7700X is cheaper and offers a good performance, but the 1% lows can occasionally be 5-10% better with the 7800X3D. You might want to weigh if that’s worth it for your game library!
Definitely get the 7800X3D! It really shines in gaming scenarios, providing better 1% lows which makes a noticeable difference in performance during intense gaming sessions.
If you want the best performance for gaming, 7800X3D is the way to go. Its 3D V-cache offers better long-term performance, even outside of gaming.
I play a wide range of games, from Total War: Warhammer 3 to Cyberpunk 2077, and I really enjoy those experiences! So it might help to invest in stronger performance.
