I’m looking to upgrade my PC and I’m torn between a couple of options. For the GPU, I’m considering the RTX 5070Ti or the Ryzen 9070XT. On the CPU side, I’m trying to choose between the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, which costs about 440€ where I live, and the Ryzen 7 9800X3D priced at 545€. I’ll be gaming at 1440p and don’t plan to upgrade to 4K anytime soon. I mainly play competitive games like CS2, R6 Siege, and LoL, but I do enjoy some single-player games like Elden Ring and Lies of P. I’d appreciate any advice on which parts I should go for. Thanks!

Make sure to set your budget first. If the 9800X3D fits in there, I’d say go for it. It’s a slight upgrade worth considering if you can swing it. The performance gap isn’t massive, but every bit helps!
For most titles, the 9800X3D coupled with the 5070Ti could be the best choice. It has great performance across a variety of games.
I think the 7800X3D offers better value overall. But you didn’t share what the GPU prices are. If the 9070XT is a lot more expensive, go for that!
I’d recommend going with the 7800X3D paired with a B650 motherboard and the 9070XT. It’s a solid combo that should handle 1440p gaming well.
Actually, in online games, you want to avoid upscaling since it can introduce some latency. Raw performance is key. The 5070Ti has shown to be around 20% faster in CS2, though the 9070XT had some driver issues at launch. Both CPUs are great, but the 7800X3D is a bit more efficient! And don’t skimp on the motherboard—get a decent mid-range B850 board!
