Hey everyone! I’m on the hunt for a new controller since Valve hasn’t dropped a new one yet. I currently own several DualShock 4 controllers, but I’ve noticed the DualSense is a bit cheaper right now. I only use my controllers via Bluetooth and never wired, so I’m wondering if these two controllers work well together on Steam, especially in multiplayer games. Is it worth spending a bit more to stick with the DualShock 4 or should I go for the DualSense? Thanks for your insights! Cheers!

I own both a DualSense and a DualShock 4, and I’ve used them exclusively via Bluetooth. I’d recommend going for the DualSense; I haven’t faced any issues with it. The adaptive triggers and vibration features work well over Bluetooth, which is a big plus!
Just to clarify, the haptics don’t always work over Bluetooth, but adapting features like the triggers do work with some games, like Helldivers 2, which is pretty sweet!
I have a DualSense, and while pairing it over Bluetooth can be a bit tricky sometimes, it usually works fine once it’s connected. I think the issues might be more related to specific Bluetooth adapters than the controller itself. Just a heads up, though, it seems like there are some bugs that cause it to shut off right after connecting, but overall, it’s a solid controller!
Yeah, I noticed the same thing! It does drain Bluetooth bandwidth a lot, though, so it messes with audio if you’re using Bluetooth headphones at the same time.
Honestly, it’s still one of the best controllers! Just be ready for some quirks.
I personally use a Stadia controller, but if I were to grab a replacement, I’d definitely consider 8bitdo controllers. They have great compatibility with various systems and devices!
But can you mix them for local multiplayer? I can’t afford to buy a ton of new controllers!
