I’ve been feeling some serious FOMO with the Switch 2 coming out. I’ve been complaining about its price for a while now because I really loved the first Switch, but I’m not that interested in titles like Mario Kart or Donkey Kong. With the threat of US tariffs possibly raising the price even higher, I’m wondering if I should just go ahead and snag one now before it potentially gets even more expensive.

I honestly wasn’t going to get one at first, but when I saw that stores were stocked, I couldn’t resist. With so many games getting upgrades, it felt like the right time, you know?
Honestly, I picked mine up right away because I was worried about prices going up with those tariffs. The first Switch is my favorite too! If you want it, why wait? The ROG Ally just hiked its price by $100, so anything could happen with the Switch as well!
Go for it! If it’s not gonna hit your wallet too hard, just buy it now. If prices go up, you’ll regret not grabbing it while you could. And if it doesn’t go up, then hey, you get to enjoy a Switch 2 now!
Nah, I think it’ll actually drop in price later—even consoles do that! Wait it out!
The new tech in this console really stands out! You’ve been using the Switch 1 for a while, so jumping to the Switch 2 might be great for you. I doubt it’ll get cheaper though, just look at how the OLED still sells for the same price it launched at. It’s worth considering what kind of games you wanna play before deciding, though!
Oh totally! The Switch 1 never dropped in price, and it’s always nice to pick up a console that could last you for years.
If they upgrade TOtK for the Switch 2, I’ll be tempted for sure! Better graphics alone would be worth it to me. Like, who wouldn’t want smoother gameplay of BOTW and TOTK?
I think you’re right! Prices don’t always go up because of tariffs, but it’s still a good idea to buy if you really want one.
