I just won a Newegg shuffle for the RTX 5070, which is retailing at $549. With tax, it totals up to $611. I originally wanted the RX 9070 XT at $649, but I’m now debating whether I should go for the 5070. What do you all think?

I’ve got the RTX 5070 Ti, which is just a slight upgrade from this one. I think it’s worth it for $611, especially since the market is so tough right now. You’d be hard-pressed to find alternatives at that price point.
Honestly, the RTX 5070 is a bit underwhelming compared to other options. It’s kind of on par with the 4070 Super but comes with some limitations, like having only 12 GB of VRAM that can cause issues in certain games. If you really need a card now, it’s not a terrible choice since getting something at MSRP nowadays feels like a deal. Just make sure you’re cool with its performance level before committing.
It feels overpriced compared to the RX 9070 XT, which is likely a better choice overall. The 5070 might work fine if you need something urgently, but if you can hold out, the 9070 is definitely a stronger performer.
You’re not getting a horrible card at all, but if you can still snag the RX 9070 XT around $600-650, that should be your go-to. Just know the RTX 5070 is kind of lacking in the current market expectations. If you’re stuck with this one, it’s manageable but not ideal.
Yeah, I hear you! I’m leaning towards the RTX 5070 since it’s what I won, but the prices out there are pretty wild. Anything at MSRP seems decent right now!
Yeah, GPU prices are all over the place right now. Finding any decent card at MSRP is pretty rare, so if you’re set on it, it might be a good move.
