I’m planning a trip to Europe with my family, and I’m considering bringing my Steam Deck along. My mom is worried about it being stolen from our hotel room, but I feel like that’s unlikely. Has anyone had experiences with traveling with a Steam Deck? Should I take it or leave it at home?

Honestly, it’s not much different than bringing any other valuable tech. If you’re cautious and keep it out of sight when you’re not using it, you should be fine. Just set a password and always keep your SD card close, like you would with your phone.
And remember, keeping your stuff close while out and about is key too. Europe can have pickpockets, but hotels usually feel safe.
You really don’t have to worry much if you’re in a good hotel. Just don’t leave it out in plain sight. I took mine to Portugal, and it was a lifesaver during downtime. Plus, most hotels have safes you can use for extra security.
Exactly! Just keep it out of view when you’re not using it. Most theft happens outside rather than in hotel rooms.
I agree! And if you’re worried about carrying it around, just use a backpack and keep it close. It’s such a convenient device to have while traveling!
I’ve taken my Steam Deck on many trips and never had an issue! I usually just leave it in my suitcase when I’m out exploring. It’s pretty rare for things to go missing if you’re in a decent hotel.
Exactly! Just stash it somewhere secure in your hotel room, like between clothes. That way, it’s not visible but still accessible when you need it.
