I’ve been a bit anxious about the temperatures on my Steam Deck when I’m gaming and I notice it’s hitting the 70s to 80s. Is this something that could damage my device?

Those temperatures are actually expected for gaming! Just be cautious if it creeps close to 100°C. Otherwise, you’re good to go!
Honestly, don’t get too hung up on the temperature readouts. Just enjoy your games! You could even turn off the performance displays like the FPS counter to focus on having fun.
Totally agree! I remember stressing over FPS during my PS3 days, but in the end, it’s all about enjoying the game!
No need to stress! Your Steam Deck is designed to handle those temperatures. If it ever gets too hot, it will automatically reduce power to protect itself, just like most modern devices do.
Thanks for the reassurance! So I can keep playing without worrying too much?
