Seeking Games Where You're Unarmed Against Heavily Armed Enemies

-

I’m on the hunt for a game where you play as an unarmed character, or perhaps only equipped with something basic like a knife or brass knuckles. Meanwhile, enemies wield everything from swords to guns – anything more powerful than what I have. And yet, I can still dodge, parry, and outmaneuver them all. I love systems like in Ghost of Tsushima where defensive skills shine. The game can be any genre, as long as it’s in 3D. I’ve already been through Sleeping Dogs, looking for something with a similar vibe. Would appreciate any suggestions!

If you want a different kind of experience, try Alien: Isolation. Although it’s more about feeling powerless and outsmarting an invincible foe, the tension might interest you.

Midnight Fight Express and Hotline Miami come to mind. Both have a raw, fast-paced style where you can confront better-armed opponents. Give them a shot if you’re into that intense close combat.

Midnight Fight Express got my attention too—added it straight to my wishlist!

In games like Assassin’s Creed 2, Fallout 4, and even Dragon’s Dogma, you can actually focus on melee or unarmed combat for a unique challenge. Depending on how you build your character, you might surprise yourself by how powerful you become without weapons.

You should definitely look into Sifu. It’s practically a kung-fu movie brought to life in a game, where you can really master the art of dodging and parrying. It’s challenging but completely satisfying when you get the hang of it.

A lesser-known one you might try is Clash: Artifact of Chaos. Really distinctive vibe, and the combat might scratch that itch for feeling both vulnerable and powerful.
