As an automaton main, I’ve been using the Purifier or crossbow consistently, but I recently switched to the Scorcher and I’m loving it! I’m curious to hear about specific scenarios where the Purifier could outshine the Scorcher. What are your thoughts on when to use each of them?

I prefer the Purifier over the Scorcher mainly because of its ammo efficiency, stagger ability, and its area of effect (AoE) capacity. It really performs well in those situations!
The Scorcher does amazing damage fast, but the Purifier’s versatile charged shots are really handy for dealing with multiple targets. Plus, it has better ammo economy. I usually pair either one with a railgun or supply pack, which helps with the ammo problem!
Considering the Purifier’s extra ammo capacity and faster fire rate, I find it much better suited for high difficulties. Uncharged shots tend to deal more damage than those from the Scorcher against higher-tier targets. It’s a shame the Scorcher hasn’t quite kept up as much as it could have.
The Purifier outshines the Scorcher in many ways, especially with its extra magazine and AOE explosives. It can efficiently clear out clustered enemies, and you usually won’t have to worry about ammo like you do with the Scorcher, which can burn through faster during intense battles.
Charging up shots with the Purifier on tough enemies like devastators is super effective. Although the Scorcher is great for suppressing fire, I’d say if you’re comfortable charging shots, the Purifier is the way to go. If you prefer a run-and-gun style, stick with the Scorcher.
Totally agree! The ammo efficiency is a game changer.
