I’ve been thinking about how a lot of players really underestimate the usefulness of Renown Heart vendors in the core Guild Wars 2 game. Even endgame players still find value in them, especially for items like obsidian shards and crafting materials. During leveling, these vendors are often the only source of accessories and some of the best condition damage gear, along with low-level food that’s super affordable—really helpful for new players!
However, the grind of constantly going back to these vendors can get tedious, especially since new players may not realize the value of the gear they offer. I propose that we enhance the user experience by introducing vendor tabs at the city NPCs showing all of the items available from the Renown Heart vendors once you’ve unlocked them. This way, players wouldn’t have to run back and forth to check what’s available, making it easier to grab what they need while they’re in the city for other tasks like banking or selling junk. Plus, for endgame players, all those valuable crafting materials and cool skins would be easily accessible.
Also, it could be fun to have an achievement for buying every item from these vendors that rewards a title or unlocks some exclusive skins. I’d call it something like ‘Fully Thanked.’ What do you think?

I totally agree! Having heart-completing writs like in the Janthir maps would be awesome. It’d allow us to buy heart completion rewards from anywhere on the map, which would make things way more convenient!
No offense, but it seems like you might not be using the wiki effectively. The vendor inventories are static, so it’s more about knowing what you need and where to find it. But shifting all heart vendors to karma vendors could be interesting, making them completely optional and repeatable instead of a chore. Just a thought!
I see your point, but exploring what items vendors offer can be part of the fun! The wiki is great when you know what you’re after, but finding hidden gems while playing is rewarding!
Yes! Being able to buy completion rewards with just currency would simplify things for us veteran players. I’ve done this so many times, I’m just looking for quality of life enhancements now.
Honestly, I find that keeping gear updated before level 80 can be a bit too much. I mainly stick to rewards from leveling or finishing story quests. Most low-level gear is fine for progression, but I could see how some players would want more options.
I think the idea of merging certain hearts and their inventories would really help reduce the hassle. If they condensed down the number of hearts, it would lessen the tedium of checking each vendor. Plus, making karma items salvageable would add some value back to those purchases. That could help incentivize more players to engage with the system!
I feel like there’s so much potential to improve engagement with the heart vendors. Similar to the system they used in Janthir, I’d hope they could implement a mechanic to buy gifts of map completion—especially since those starter packs got so many players interested in exploring more!
Yeah, especially since rifts also reward those heart completion items weekly—it’d streamline the grind!
