I’m looking to upgrade my PC since my GPU just crashed. I create 4-5 long tribute videos for a TV show and usually render them in 4K using Sony Vegas, but I’m thinking about switching to DaVinci Resolve because it’s more GPU-intensive. Right now, I have a CYBERPOWERPC Gamer Xtreme VR with an Intel i7-8700, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070. I plan to upgrade my RAM, CPU, and GPU but want to keep my budget around $400-500. Any suggestions?

Some folks are suggesting way more expensive stuff like a 5090 or 9950X, but I agree, keep it simple and stick to your budget. A mid-range GPU upgrade should help a ton for your rendering tasks without breaking the bank!
If you’re fixing up your system, I also recommend looking into getting a Ryzen 5 5600X or something similar. It’s a great balance between price and performance. You may need to budget a bit more if you want to pair it with a decent GPU, though.
You might want to consider a mid-range GPU, something like an RTX 3060 or a Radeon RX 6600, which should fit your budget and needs pretty well. Then, if needed, you can save up later to upgrade your CPU and RAM down the line. Just check compatibility with your current setup!
That’s a solid plan! It’s often best to prioritize the GPU first since that directly impacts rendering performance.

For sure! The CPU upgrade sounds smart, but it’s gotta be within my tight budget.
