The Play Store recommendations often lead me to subpar games. I’m looking for quality 2D or 3D games that aren’t constantly pushed by the store. I’m not interested in racing games or first-person shooters. Any hidden gems you can suggest?

Solomon’s Keep is a bit older, but definitely worth playing. It’s still a solid title despite its age.
Monument Valley games are top-notch if you enjoy puzzle platformers. They have simple yet satisfying mechanics and beautiful art style. I Love Hue is another brilliant puzzle game to try out for free.
If you haven’t tried it yet, Necromerger is an awesome game. It’s pretty engaging and has kept me entertained for hours.
Fishing Paradiso is a fantastic pixel art fishing game with an impressive story and well-crafted characters. Even if fishing games aren’t your thing, it has a charm similar to Stardew Valley.
If you’re into production type games, give Builderment or Mindustry a shot. Total War ports like Rome, Medieval 2, and Empire are perfect for history and RTS fans. Gladihoppers is an entertaining action pick, and Doorkickers is a strategic SWAT-themed game. Tropico offers a city-building experience on an island setting. Apart from these, Polytopia is a 2D turn-based strategy game with multiplayer options. If you like plane games, try Rise of Glory or Simple Planes, while Ibomber makes for a thrilling bombing game. Lastly, Siege and The Bonfire 2 are solid RTS and city-building/defense games respectively.
I’m happy to see someone mention Polytopia. It’s definitely a favorite of mine!
Afterplace offers a classic Zelda-style adventure. It’s definitely among the overlooked games that deserve more attention.
Tsuki’s Odyssey is a chill game reminiscent of Stardew Valley and Animal Crossing. If you enjoy those types of games, this one might be a good fit for you!
Stardew Valley is also an option on mobile if you haven’t tried it yet, although it’s not exactly hidden.
I’m digging Necromerger too, but I’m curious to know, what’s your devourer level?
