I’m trying to decide between getting the PSVR2 headset to use with my PS5 or going for the standalone Quest 3. If anyone has experience with both or knows which one is better in terms of performance, game selection, and overall value, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

I vote for getting a console first! VR is super fun, but you get a ton more variety with consoles in terms of game genres. Plus, if you’re on a budget, the PS5 and PSVR2 together can set you back quite a bit—around $1000 in total. The Quest 3 is cheaper and has a great library, but I still feel console gaming gives you the broader experience overall.
Honestly, these two aren’t really direct competitors. The Quest 3 is a standalone device, which means it doesn’t need a powerful gaming PC to run. On the other hand, the PSVR2 is designed to work with the PS5, which is a much stronger machine. So, if you’re considering gameplay experience and potential graphics, the PS5 would offer more power. But if you’re looking for portability and a decent library of games, the Quest 3 is a solid choice. Just keep in mind you’ll need a good PC if you use the PSVR2 without a console.
True, but don’t forget about the upcoming games for PSVR2. It might be worth waiting to see what titles drop!
That’s a good point! I might just go for the console now and see how VR develops later.
