Hey everyone, I’m planning to expand storage for my PS5. If you’ve already done this, what would you suggest? Should I go for an external hard drive or an M.2 SSD that connects directly to the PS5? I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences!

Honestly, I’d recommend the M.2 SSD. With external drives, you have to transfer the game to the PS5’s internal storage to actually play it, which is kind of a hassle. So, for seamless gaming, I’d just go with a spacious M.2 SSD. Just make sure to get one compatible with the PS5!
I’d say the M.2 SSD is your best option if you want to make the most out of your PS5. This way, you won’t need to shuffle games between the drives, which can be a bit annoying. Installation might seem intimidating, but it’s not too complicated and there are tons of guides online to help you out.
Definitely go with the M.2 SSD. It’s way less trouble in the long run because you can play PS5 games directly from it. External drives only let you store saved data and PS4 games, so you really aren’t getting the full benefit of your PS5 with those. Trust me, the extra speed is worth it.
