Hey everyone! I’m diving back into The Elder Scrolls Online after a break and I’m trying to decide whether to get a PS5 Pro or stick with my Steam Deck. I own all the chapters up to High Isle, but I haven’t played since then. What would I need to buy to catch up? Also, are there any significant changes I should know about since the last time I played?
By the way, I racked up about 100 hours and my main was a Warden focusing on ice magic, which wasn’t the strongest at the time, so I phased out during my MMO burnout (I was also juggling WoW, FFXIV, and Guild Wars 2 but quit FFXIV and WoW recently).

So, new stuff is always coming to ESO. The Arcanist class is a cool addition with the Necrom chapter, and you’ve got subclassing coming in the next update, which isn’t tied to the expansion. If you’re looking to get caught up, either grab the 2025 Premium Edition for $80, which includes everything, or the Gold Road collection for $50-$70, but you’d miss out on that new class with the cheaper option. Just a heads-up, subclassing will let you blend classes—it could definitely spice up your gameplay!
That’s awesome! I love the idea of subclassing. Do you think it will change the balancing much? I remember the uproar during the big combat revamps. The Arcanist does look promising, though! I guess I’ll have to try it out when I can.
