Lately, I’ve noticed that NVIDIA’s recording features, like Instant Replay, stopped working specifically for Roblox after the update that rolled out this week. The weird thing is, it still works fine with all my other PC games. Has anyone else run into this or found any workarounds? I’m really hoping for a fix because it’s pretty frustrating that only Roblox is affected.

You’re definitely not alone. I experienced the same issue starting right after the update. NVIDIA just won’t recognize Roblox for recording anymore. From what I’ve seen, Roblox is running more like a background process now, which might be why the GeForce software refuses to hook into it. No fix yet though, just have to wait for an official update.
I actually reached out to NVIDIA support about this. They said they’re aware of the problem and are investigating it. Seems widespread, since trying some OS switches (like going from Win10 to Win11) didn’t help either. Unfortunately, they couldn’t give me a timeline for when it will be fixed, just that it’s a priority. For now, if you want recording functionality, you might want to try the Store version of Roblox, which reportedly still works with NVIDIA recording tools.
I’ve been struggling with this too. Tried everything like resetting my GPU drivers, reinstalling both NVIDIA software and Roblox, but no luck. The weird twist is that the Microsoft Store version of Roblox still records fine, but the desktop app doesn’t. Seems like this is a known issue, but sadly no ETA on a fix yet.
It’s super frustrating that this happened out of nowhere. All other games work perfectly and my friends didn’t have the issue before this update. From what support said to me, it’s definitely on NVIDIA’s radar to fix it, but it might take a bit of time. Best bet right now is to keep an eye on updates from both Roblox and NVIDIA, or alternatively use the Microsoft Store Roblox app for recording if you can tolerate that version.
Yeah, that background process behavior makes sense! Hopefully NVIDIA or Roblox patch it soon so recording can work again.
