Hey everyone, I just got my very first desktop setup and I’m excited! Here’s the build: Ryzen 5 7600x CPU, AIO cooler (only one available when I bought), Radeon RX 7800 XT 16GB GPU, Mag B650 motherboard, 32GB 6000MT/s RAM, and a 1000W modular PSU (also the only one in stock). Since this is all new to me, I have some noob questions: How often should I physically and digitally clean my PC? Besides Steam, Discord, Firefox, and Geek Uninstaller, what essential software should I install? When upgrading parts later, what should I prioritize? Also, there are some taped pieces holding the dust filter on my case — do I need to remove those? And lastly, do you think spending around €2100 on these components was worth it, considering limited options here in Europe? Thanks!

When you plan to upgrade, think about what bottlenecks you hit first. For gaming, your GPU usually is the priority, but if you do tasks like video editing, CPU might be more important. Since you have a solid Ryzen 5 and RX 7800 XT, maybe wait and see how they hold up before swapping parts.
For cleaning your PC, it really depends on your environment. If you’re in a dustier area or have pets, aim to clean the inside physically every 3–6 months to keep dust from clogging fans and filters. Digitally, just keep your system updated and run antivirus scans occasionally; no need for super frequent deep cleans unless you notice issues.
On essential software, besides the usual Steam, Discord, and browsers, definitely grab your motherboard and GPU drivers from the manufacturers’ websites. Also, consider installing some handy utilities like MSI Afterburner for monitoring temps and performance, and maybe something like CCleaner for occasional system tidying. Geek Uninstaller is great too for keeping your installs clean.
Regarding your €2100 build, for Europe with limited stock, that sounds like a pretty solid setup! Ryzen 5 7600x and RX 7800 XT are great mid-to-high tier parts and 32GB RAM at 6000MT/s is awesome. It’s normal to pay a bit more in Europe due to availability and import costs. Overall, looks good and future-proof for a while.
About those tape pieces on your dust filter, usually those are just temporary or for shipping to keep things in place. You should remove the tape so the filter can properly do its job and airflow is optimized. Just gently peel them off and make sure the filter is secured as designed.
