I’ve been hopping from game to game since March 2024, quickly moving on as soon as I finish one, until I stumbled upon DAVE THE DIVER. This game really hooked me, and I’m having a hard time finding something else to dive into next. I’d love suggestions for games that capture a similar vibe (chill, management elements, pixel art). While I’ve seen mentions of Moonlighter, Travellers Rest, and Graveyard Keeper, none really resonated. To give more context, I’m currently enjoying a mix of games like Deep Rock Galactic and No Man’s Sky and have completed a lengthy list across various genres. I’m definitely not looking for anything with fairies, furries, or romance aspects. Any advice on what I could try next would be greatly appreciated!

Stardew Valley often gets recommended, though it does have optional romance. If you’re willing to stray a bit from your usual genre, The Stanley Parable or Firewatch might catch your interest. Also, Stray offers a cool cat-centric story if you enjoyed Little Kitty, Big City. They’re all different but engaging in their own ways.
Dave the Diver is definitely in a league of its own, but if you enjoyed its blend of elements, maybe you’d like some of these other games. I recommend checking out Valheim, Halls of Torment, and Helldivers 2 for some unique gameplay experiences. They might not have the exact same chill vibe, but each has their charms and could be a good follow-up adventure!
Have you tried Beyond Good and Evil? It’s an older game but holds up well with its original vibe. Plus, there’s a version on Steam that came out recently if that’s your style. Also, if you’re into epic space dramas, the Mass Effect Trilogy is a must-play—it’s such a rich story experience.
Carol’s Garden might be worth checking out, although romance is part of it, you can make it secondary. For a similar management flavor minus the romance, Spiritfarer’s got a heartwarming storyline, and Godlike Burger lets you juggle tasks in a roguelike manner. Spiritfarer, especially, is beautiful and touching if you’re into that sort of thing.
The way you describe DAVE THE DIVER makes me think you might enjoy Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. It’s loaded with minigames and unique humor, drawing inspiration from Japanese RPGs. If you can get into turn-based combat, it might just be perfect for you!
If you’re looking for something chill with a unique twist, Moonglow Bay could be right up your alley. It’s got fishing and a warm community feel, which might scratch that itch you’re feeling post-DAVE.
Spiritfarer sounds intriguing, I’ll have to give it a look! Thanks for the heads-up.
