Need Recommendations for Chill Sandbox Games

-

I’ve been stuck in bed with a nasty cold and fever, which has left me super bored. I’m on the hunt for a relaxing sandbox game where time just flies by. I’ve enjoyed games like Stardew Valley and No Man’s Sky in the past, but I’m looking for something more low-key right now. Stardew Valley feels too stressful with its calendar system, and I struggle with aiming in first-person games, so those aren’t great options for me. I’ve been considering Disney Dreamlight Valley and Coral Island, but I’m open to other suggestions too. If there’s a super relaxing non-sandbox game out there, I’d love to hear about that as well. My main goal is to find something mentally easy-going.

You might want to check out Dorf Romantik! It’s a tile-laying game that lets you create beautiful landscapes. The music is lovely, and it’s stress-free. It’s not a sandbox in the traditional sense, but it’s very calming to play. Plus, you get to see your creations come to life!

Don’t forget about Minecraft! You could play it on Peaceful mode for a super calm experience. It’s perfect for building and exploring without any of the usual stress!

SPIRITFARER is a must-play! It’s an emotional journey that feels great to get lost in. There’s a lot of heart in that game, and I can’t recommend it enough if you’re looking for something unique and impactful.

Coral Island is a solid choice! It’s got that Stardew vibe but feels a bit more laid back. But if you really want relaxation, give Euro Truck Simulator 2 or American Truck Simulator a go. It’s not sandbox per se, but driving around and taking in the scenery can be super chill and enjoyable!

Have you tried Age of Wonders III? It’s a fantastic turn-based strategy game where you set your own pace, which can be pretty chill if you’re looking for something that makes you think without overwhelming you. Plus, it has great depth if you ever feel like diving into tactical combat.

For a bit of casual fun, check out Arctico! I picked it up during the Steam sale; it has minimal base building and focuses on exploration. There’s zero combat or precise aiming, so you can just relax and enjoy the scenery.

If you’re into crafting and survival without the stress, try The Planet Crafter. You land on a barren planet, collect resources, and make it more livable. The only dangers are running out of food, water, or oxygen—there are no real threats, so it’s pretty soothing to play.

That game sounds like a perfect fit! Plus, watching the planet transform must be so satisfying.
