Hey everyone! I got my Steam Deck back in September 2023, and I recently noticed that the battery health has dropped to 90%. Also, my device won’t recharge above 90%. Since my warranty has expired after two years, I’m wondering how I can change the battery. Will Steam offer any help with this?

It looks like you’re a bit confused about the timeline; if you bought your Deck in September 2023, you haven’t hit the two-year mark yet, so you might still be covered under warranty! Just check the details. If you’re thinking about replacing the battery for just a 10% drop in health, I’d advise against it unless it’s affecting performance. Also, you can find plenty of resources on Steam Deck maintenance in the guides available online!
90% battery health is actually pretty decent! And just so you know, the Steam Deck is designed to discharge until it hits around 90-95% when it’s plugged in for too long. If you’re looking to replace the battery, check out the guide on iFixit; it has step-by-step instructions for the battery replacement process and you can buy a replacement battery from their site too!

Doesn’t the warranty typically last one year? Just wondering why this issue wouldn’t be covered by it!
