Hey everyone! I thought I had a good grasp on the snapshotting mechanics for the DoK (Dance of Knives) Rogue, but things got a bit confusing during my recent gameplay in the pits. My understanding was that once I get my buffs up—like Imbue and Concealment—and start using DoK, I should stay buffed as long as I keep casting without running out of charges. However, I’m running into an issue. After using my buffs and calling in shadow clone, everything goes smoothly until the shadow clone runs out. When I recast it while still holding down DoK, my damage does increase a little, but it’s not nearly as high as it was at the beginning. Am I doing something wrong by recasting shadow clone? Should I be resetting my entire snapshot every time shadow clone expires? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! By the way, I’ve confirmed that I’m not running out of charges; I have 200% move speed with all my buffs and I’m avoiding any charge issues. Thanks!

It sounds like your rotation might need a little adjustment. Once your clone comes off cooldown, the idea is to start the cycle over again rather than just casting clone. That way you can really maximize your damage. Hang in there!
Don’t you usually start with shadow clone? Make sure to pop Concealment before you start spinning. I used to struggle with DoK too until I realized that interacting with chests or doors was killing my buffs. I switched to Blood Wave and it’s worked a lot better for me. Just be mindful of your interactions while in battle.
Totally get what you’re saying! The clicking can be annoying with DoK, especially if you have to interact with things mid-fight. My usual order is Dark Shroud, shadow clone, Cold Imbue, Concealment, and then DoK. I thought starting with shadow clone was the way to go—does it really make a difference?
Yeah, that makes sense! I thought I had the rotation down, but I didn’t realize I had to reset the snapshot each time shadow clone goes down. Seems a bit counterintuitive, but thanks for the tip!
